How to preview Global Language content

Explanation

Edmentum has partnered with Middlebury Interactive Languages® (MIL) to add 28 semesters of Global Languages. Middlebury is the premier academic leader in world language learning for K-12 students. The following courses are now available in PLATO Learning Environment® (PLE) and PLATO Courseware:

  • Spanish 1 - 3, AP
  • French 1 - 3, AP
  • German 1 - 2
  • Latin 1 - 2
  • Chinese 1 - 2
  • English for Spanish Speakers

Note: Spanish 1 and 2 are included in the Secondary Academic Library for no additional fee.

Global Language courses, which are accessed through the Middlebury Interface contain one lesson per day made up of small assignments and is organized in a monthly Monday - Friday calendar structure. One lesson is equal to approximately 30-60 minutes of course work. Learners can usually complete lessons ahead of schedule depending on their individual pace. A green check mark displays next to completed assignments. The lesson turns dark blue when all assignments are completed. One semester long Global Language course is designed around a 120-day (4-5 months) calendar.

English for Spanish Speakers is a supplemental content title which can be used for Learners who need English as a second language.
