Grade Report in Plato Courseware

Explanation

The Grade Report tool allows educators to generate and provide final scores to learners. The Grade Report can be generated in 1 of 2 ways:

  1. By Learner - If you want to generate a report for a single Learner AND you know the name of that student.
  2. By Class - If you want to generate a report for more than one Learner AND you know the name of the class the Learners are enrolled in.

How To

The first step is to provide a template or framework in which to generate the final grade of the Learner.

  1. Hover over Plato Courseware tab
  2. Select the Program
  3. Locate the Reports tab
  4. Hover over this and click Curriculum Reports
  5. Locate Grade Report (top right column)
  6. Click "Manage Grade Templates"
  7. Select the "Actions" drop-down menu  & click "Create New Template"
  8. Give the template a name & designate if this is to be the default for grade reporting.
  9. Designate whether this template will be shared with all educators in the program.
  1. Apply Scores for Exempted Modules where relevant. (This will be the score a student automatically receives from an exemption generated from Unit Pretests)
  2. Apply the appropriate Activity Weighting for the Courseware Activities to the right.

You can include Instructor Defined Activities to influence the grade as well. (Attendance / Participation)  (Writing)  (Other)
Apply Grading Methods here. This determines whether the Grade is Pass /Fail or an actual Letter Grade.

Once the specifications have been established, click 1 of the following 3 options:

  1. "Save Changes" if you are done for the moment but wish to return to the template later.
  2. "Save & Exit" if you are done editing the template
  3. "Cancel & Exit" if you wish to undue the changes made thus far

What's Next

Now that our template has been drafted, it is time to generate the report itself.

  1. Hover over Plato Courseware tab
  2. Select the Program
  3. Locate the Reports tab
  4. Hover over this and click Curriculum Reports
  5. Locate Grade Report (top right column) and click on it
  6. Choose the Report Path (By Learner) or (By Class)
  7. Click "Create Report"
  8. Select the desired Learner(s) & click Next Step
  9. Select the desired Class(es) and click Next Step
  10. Select the Grade Template you created in the steps above
  11. Choose whether to generate the report in a PDF format or a Spreadsheet (.csv)

  1. Select Summary or Detailed Report, whichever you prefer.

Other Considerations

Keep in mind that not every template an Educator creates is cross-compatible with another Instructor's course.
If you are unsure of how many of each activity there are in the assignment, we recommend viewing the Course under Browse Curriculum.

This will provide you an overview of the course and allow for a drill down to the Module and Activity.
