Submitting requests through the API generates errors

Explanation

Explains what Characters must be encoded in submitting requests through the API

Resolution

When submitting requests through the API all non-alphanumeric characters must be encoded.

For instance, the URL in the POST command below has a "&" in it. The request references a class in PLE called "Computers & Technology".  This ampersand must be encoded to an HTTP value.

POST https://api.ple.platoweb.com/Location/TEST%20High%20School/Class/FALL%20Computers%20&%20Technology/Learner

For assistance with converting ACSII characters to HEXIDECIMAL for URL encoding, see the following link:

http://people.w3.org/rishida/tools/conversion/

Using this resource the class name "Computers & Technology becomes "Computers%20%26%20Technology". The "space" characters" become "%20" and the ampersand becomes "%26".
