Your firewall or desktop security application may be blocking "HTTP referer", which allows the browser to return to the page it came from.
Another cause can be the pop up blocker. Be sure that they are turned off and that foreign toolbars are disabeled, as they sometimes have their own pop up blockers
If you get the "Do you want to close this window?" prompt, select No. Then click the down arrow next to the Back button. Select the link called "PLATO Learning Environment - Assignments" that is highest (most recent) on the list. That will bring you back to the student menu. This may prevent data loss.
Change the settings on your security application to allow HTTP referers. Some security applications are listed below; contact your network administrator to implement these changes or for help with other applications.

Change the security settings in Internet Explorer to the default settings:
- Click Tools > Internet Options > Security.
- Move the slider to set the security level to Medium, or click the Default Level button.
- Click OK
